Yes he hasn't been brilliant but hasn't been bad either and this can be fixed by a long run in the team, just like Ramsey has

Trouble is for us to move up a level means there is less time for a player to play himself into form. Currently he isn't the best choice in the 10 role or in either of the two midfield roles (don't think he is suited to the holding one and Ramsey is clearly the form player). Hence he probably shouldn't be in the team

Although as you say, he shouldn't really be starting anyway. I'd have Ox left, Sanchez right, posing frenchman up top.

I suppose another way of doing it, especially if we sign someone like Carvalho, would be a diamoand. Carvalho at the base, Wilshere and Ramsey in the middle, Ozil at the point with Sanchez playing next to Giroud.

That fitness amd mental sharpness will only come with games so ifear you are right. We have to stick with him.

He is nothing like the player he was when he first broke into the side. Like ramsey, you assume it will come back because it is in him.
