View Full Version : It may be one of those where we say "not many sides will go to Goodison this season

as for 'good work' I can't agree with that.
Yes it was a good point from a pants display but the first half was shocking with the set up all wrong exacerbated by the inability of the midfield to play sharp enough to make it work.

if we are to survive the next few games then the midfield have to really get their **** together.

Good result considering the way the game panned out and how poorly we played.

Point taken though. Rather like England at Lord's the other week, it could turn out that we were so bad we made the opposition look good.

when things are a little bit misfiring.

The 70-71 side started the season with a 2-2 at Goodison and only won two out of the first six.

We're clearly not up to speed yet, we'll get better.

It was a weird formation yesterday as well, which didn't help.

Stupid of him not to tie the game up, putting on striker (Atsu) instead of a defensive midfielder (Besic), their defence was a total mess. Thought Everton were quite poor and tactically naive.

Oh well, Martinez is a genius and so on and so forth, despite dropping 4 points in the first two games of the season.

I like it.

I might be alone in thinking Alexis could do a job through the middle, but not in our current set-up, not with Ozil outside him and certainly not in a team that's settling in and is used to playing with Giroud in that position. If we go that way it will be as pacey tiki-taka all the way from the back. The extra option of the hoof to Giroud will be out of the question, and you can forget crossing.
