I was expecting something a bit more Raheem-y or Anwar-y, tbh. Anything but 'John', tbh. You don't really expect that sort of thing from a chap called 'John' http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif

Something to think about there, I reckon.

Particularly since they're reduced to pumping anything they can find under the sink into the poor sods these days.

if sonme of these supposedly radicalised Jihadis actually couldn't give a monkeys about the underlying religious, geoographical or foreign policy issues and just see it is a 'legitimate' opportunity to brutally murder people and upload the footgage to Youtube

out there to slice the throats of innocent people, does he?

Make of that what you will...

do absolutely anything if you give them a strong enough religious or political ideology to dictate and justify their actions.

The only wonder really is that we still retain the capacity to be shocked by anything. But that's more to do with our species' remarkable ability to kid ourselves and ignore inconvenient truths than anything else.

Or do you fancifully suppose that only muslims are capable of atrocities?

Being a brown skinned person with a long beard can have a desire to butcher people while not giving a toss about where or why they do it.

Of course, them being an IC1 is the assumption you made about my original comment.

As long as you establish a strong enough sense of otherness, something you're also making a decent fist of, then you can make people feel justified to do anything.

behaviour.

I don't imagine that Ben's friends and relatives would be happy with him going to Iraq at all. Let alone to commit such barbaric acts of violence.

In fact, people will even have little stickers in their car supporting charities specifically aimed at helping Ben when he gets back from doing it.

Say you went out today and did something monstrous or criminal (something the BMA wouldn't help you cover up, I mean), would it be fair to hold your parents to account, do you think?

RAF base in Scotland - flying helicopters to pluck foolhardy people from mountain tops.

The Muslims cause the problem which has to be addressed by Ben and his superiors.

Also, what would the BMA help me cover up, exactly?

You might want to check out us and Johnny Frog carving up the erstwhile Ottoman Empire with all the subtlety and sensitivity to local feelings you would associate with the late period western empires.

us up all the time then they wouldn't be out there at all.

You need to accept that civilians will die while we're trying to kill terrorists, anyway. They deliberately hide amongst them. It's not like we intentionally murder innocent people like they do.
