Surely he's taking the piss?

Last night was comical with Arteta injured and Flamini coming on!

neither should be playing with Khedeira about!

Where's Ivan's special fund :(

Or the Observer.

The injury to Martinez causing a need for an additional resource. Quite handy really that a German international was being touted around and is not against the idea, though not exactly a like for like replacement.

Really cannot work out what they have allowed to happen with Kroos all the same.

One simply alluding to a need for a new player as a result of the injury, their summer business having been complete otherwise.

There was a mention of him (JM) being used as 1 of a 3 man defence.

In the past week I think he has been signing for United then Chelsea and now you suggest Bayern.

Kroos was never forgiven by certain people (for which I read either Rummenigge or Beckenbauer for refusing to take a penalty against Chelsea in the Champions League final a couple of years back. The attitude being that he isn't worth the highest level of wages if he isn't prepared to take on the highest level of responsibility.

I should be out that said source is Canadian - a kind of Bavarian equivalent of WES if you wish. Though not quite as loud and definitely more generous with the round-buying.

Other German fans who have seen a lot more of Khedira seem to have no problem with the idea that he can play the holding role - odd that so many people see him in an entirely different light

I think signing a defender pretty much uses the budget. The extra dosh from qualifying would let us spend a bit more on a midfielder.

Few weeks, no need. Few months even.

Vermaelen was 15m supposedly and we even got 12m for selling Vela's buy-out clause. Not to mention 2.5m for Djourou etc.

We've actually spent very little so far this summer when you take account of the sales and the additional income from new sponsorship agreements with Emirates, Puma and the rest.

I think Wenger's just keeping his powder dry until he sees which players become available later in the window.

Champions League qualification would obviously help though...
