regarding your other point, I would play Walcott up top with Sanchez, Ozil and Campbell behind him. He would finish the season top scorer without fail. I've been reading about Walcott as a kid at Southampton. They played him up front after a while as a winger and he tore every team to shreds scoring hatricks all over the shop and against older teams. Arsene really really doesn't know what he is doing. I feel like writing to him and pointing things out.

I think the problem is that Arsene wants a distributer rather than a specalist defensive midfielder, in which case Alonso is not the worst idea, certainly be an upgrade.
Ideally we would get Podolski to have a word with his mate Bastian, before he's sold.
