am just suggesting we have a bit of form in shooting for the lesser known buy as back-up centrehalf then having to play them and feeling hard done by.

he is not the hummels type player we were going for beforehand

or even someone with experience of the league like an Ashley Williams/agger type or even Winston Reid who could learn the ropes from Per (long trips for internationals mind).

game well. I'm not saying he will succeed at Arsenal (I'm not sure myself) but he's better than a lot of PL central defenders at the age of 23. Unlike the previous seasons, Wenger could have bought a "better" player this year but probably he sees something in Manolas just like he did in Chambers.

Don't forget that a "better" player would see the situation as TV5 did (not guaranteed a lot of games etc) so Manolas is a young player that will be willing to be patient and try to better himself.

Let's see if he's the one...

Of course some people will be disappointed when they read in the papers that we are going to sign Hummels and Cavani and we end up signing Manolas and Vargas. It's just the way it is.
