Also, starting in the depths of South London and walking towards safety is far preferable to the reverse.

I enjoyed it. Crystal Palace itself actually seemed quite pleasant. West Norwood was a bit shabby, but the walk round the cemetery was good. Then West Dulwich - poshe but dull. Visited the old velodrome from the 1948 Olympics. Lunch at Herne Hill was excellent (full English brekky with a pint), then Brockwell Park was ok. Nice ponds. Brixton is never really in the old comfort zone but the north end was fine on the walk up to Kennington, which has some very nice bits.

All in all, good to learn a bit about a part of the city I know little about.

Next on the list is the river Peck. Which means going to Peckham :yikes:
