It's a mixture of things - at Southampton we bowled a much better length, our senior batsmen performed much better (Cook and Bell finally getting some runs), Moeen's bowling improved and we got a bit of luck for the first time this summer (both Cook and Bell could easily have gone cheaply and Ishant was injured).

This boosted our confidence and shattered the fragile confidence
of the Indians.

Small margins - had Jadeja held on to a simple slip catch on the first morning at the Rose Bowl and had Bell been given out on 0 when he was plumb in front later on the same day, we could be looking at quite a different situation now.
