View Full Version : The essential thing tomorrow isn't beating Palace.

The essential thing is to rack up a huge tally in the 'goals for' column, to have an early GD lead and let the rest of the league know we mean business.

6 or 7-0 please.

is capable of winning the league in response to Richard's post below, and me spelling Ozil's name correctly caused the whole thing to be lost

It's a teething issue with a new server.

Earlier in the week I sort of thought I would, but as the time draws near and I think of the noise, dear boy... and the people!

If you are, I'll lay odds you don't go.

I mean, there's every chance of a glass of wine being taken with the meal.

Who am I kidding? You know it seems like a good idea and then you find yourself in North London surrounded by tens of thousands of hideous people wearing man made fibres and farting noxious, lagery gases through their pores. Even if you do make it past the rising nausea, claustrophobia and panic and finally sit down, your knee accidentally touches one of theirs and you shudder, bile rising in your throat. And then they start expressing their 'opinions' on the game as though anyone cares what they think...oh, Christ. :-(

We haven't won our opening match for 5 years.

We've never won the league in a season where we lost our opening match.

I'd say playing at home, after the money we invested, against a team expected to be in the bottom half and who just lost their manager, absolutely yes we should going balls-out for the win and not be content with anything less - short of a draw where we see an entertaining game and Palace "nick a point" through nothing short of heroics including multiple goal line clearances, other worldly defending and goalkeeping, and the presence of doves flocking around the Palace goal.

That would make Brian Sewell sound like a dribbling spaz.

Stonger attacking side yeah....just a bit more class and speed about them,

My only worry was that Pulis seemed to have learned a bit from City....made a point of them being outnumbered by Arsenal in midfield so think it's fairly obvious their going to pack the midfield and look to grind this out and maybe try an exploit one of our full backs when they get forward and out of position.

But...this recent thing about him wanting to leave and at logger heads with the chairman...that's awesome.

One of my favourites is when a midfielder or defender absolutely clatters an opponent, “early doors” if I may be so bold as to use one myself.

Often passed off by the commentator as player A letting player B know he is around. He could of course have simply tapped him on the shoulder in the tunnel and introduced himself.
