Chiang Mai is very very very busy with Russians these days. Phuket is Hades, absolute hell on earth.

I am afraid I can't tell you about the remaining good places. I'm keeping them secret.

If you don't spend time in Bangkok you're a bit silly.

Bangkok is basically the worst place you can leave a group of teenage lads for a week.

I've been there young, old, skintight, well off, with locals, alone, with wife, had a fantastic time, every time. If I don't have a few days there every January I become distressed.
