View Full Version : Campbell's display was quite encouraging yesterday. Much more than just a runner with a big shot

Some of his touches and link up play were very good. Did really well on the 5th goal. Good stuff imo. Although, perhaps not such good news for Podolski.

wide this season instead of people like Cazorla or Podolski on the left.

Ox/Theo/Campbell/Alexis. Pace to burn right there.

there was a moment when AOC absolutely sprinted straight through the middle but I think the pass to him was cut out.
If we get this midfielder Carvalho/Khedira/whoever then that should mean him back out wide and with him/Alexis/Campbell/Walcott there should be pace on at all times.
Thus avoiding what happened last season where everyone's back four pitched up on the half way line, rendering us completely f*cked.

from him tackling their winger in the left back position on the edge of our own box.

Him being two footed really helps in this regard.

Look at the last goal in the 4-1 win over Everton in the cup.

They were 2 on 1, yet he picker their pockets, steamed forward then played a great diagonal.

One touch from Tommy, one form Ozil, one from Olly, back of the net.

I love him there.

Pires was really a no.10 who could play on the left, so AW spent a decade trying no.10s out wide.

Hleb, Tommy, Nasri, AA23, etc.

Now at last he's found one that's worked, why change it.

Esp for tough matches (esp away.)

Then bring on the tricksters as required.

wish AW would think:

I was gonna buy a 2nd choice striker. I don't need one now. I also got an extra £8m from Vela.

Sod it. I'll pay top dollar for a hard, proper, young but experienced DM like this chap from Portugal.

Then we really have a squad and team to compete.

I was talking about his defending in the Arsenal half, when he was in the Arsenal LB position on the edge of the Arsenal box.

He also wins the ball back in the opponents half quite regularly.

Being two footed really helps, imo.

I think he's really under-rated.

That first season, before injuries, Ozzy's signing and Rambo playing like PV4 meets Messi, we thought he was the best signing in years.

I, personally, was thinking that if we'd bought him the year before when Cesc and Nasri left, we might have done well enough to keep RVP....
