he's done ok but you'd hope it's just a stopgap.
Also it's hard to see how he is going to come on that much in the absence of a spin bowling coach, I can't imagine a fat former Australian state bowler is going to be that much use to him.

Not a bad bloke to have in his corner. The part-timer thing is a bit *******s tbh - he bowls a lot in county cricket - far more than a Root or a Vaughan ever did. Not saying he is the ideal first choice but he should be given a bit more respect

Also, I think he has more potential that being a stopgap. I don't profess to have much knowledge of spin bowlers (they're a strange breed) but he seems to have a action that's pretty pleasing on the eye.

I remember my bowling coach once taught me that if an action looks right, it's probably not bad at all.

This would appear to restrict his coaching/development, to me anyway.
