'here', not 'out there'.

Jesus wept.

I only had a drink because I wanted to watch the end of the cricket r. What's the weather supposed to be like in Hampshire today? Watched most of the last session and it seemed we might need a bit of help from overhead conditions on that wicket. Can see us batting again for a bit even if they don't save the follow on (which I reckon they might well do with a couple of good overs from Dhoni)

on the plus side Buttler looks more assured behind the stumps than I have seen in the one-dayers. Flat track helps

he could do with some time at the crease somewhere but Plunkett did fine, someone said he was rested which when you consider they are running Broad and his injured knee into the ground, didn't make alot of sense.

wanting to build an entirely new team around Cook now - which is probably the right thing to do.

If we can draw or even win this series, it will help a lot.

Ballance looks like he's going to be around for some time. Good slipper too, I hear.

he brought more energy to things as well, a 32 year old hobbling around like a 50 year old behind the stumps wasn't that inspiring.

Prior is only 32 though so if gets over his injuries and anything happens to Buttler before the Ashes you never know.

Think in the longterm it is
Cook
Ballance
Bell
Root
Buttler
Anderson
Broad

as the backbone with the other places up for grabs. A spinner would be nice

I'd like to see the ECB bring in some sort of rule/guidance asking each county side (maybe Division 2 only) to play a spinner and bowl for a minimum of 10 overs per innings where possible, for example.

Otherwise kids just seem to play in the one day competitions which doesn't really help them when it comes to playing test match cricket.

What about James Taylor? He has to be knocking on the door now. England Lions captain too.

I know what you mean about spinners - one idea is to play more cricket on the outgrounds which are normally more conducive to spin. Counties will play spinners when the conditions are conducive to it

Like the fact you can sit on the grass with your beers behind the rope and watch.

Would love to see Hants play in Bournemouth at Dean Park again. Some of the greatest to play the game have played there in the past.
