14-year old girl and ask for his autograph and picture, but decided against it. I think both Ray and I are glad I came to that conclusion.

It was slightly embarrassing to realise I even considered it. I am a grown man ffs. :-(

"It's only Ray Parlour"

Are you saying Ray's a bit Savily? :-(

think to themselves if this is somebody they may know/met before, or just another fan type.

There is no shame in speaking to him though.

Pat Vegas

Is he allowed to travel?

And I would have made a fool of myself.

Ran up him and pat him on the back and he nearly flew into the road :hehe:

Good lad...

He was fine when he was with us.

He didn't ask for an autograph. Gilles may have, though.

sleeping with children*

charging people for private stadium tours.

There is plenty more.

The whole idea of name-dropping is to casually give the impression that meeting a celebrity is no big thing to you and just another day in your celebrity-filled life.

Bumping into a celebrity at an airport is something every **** has done, so there is nothing to be gained in terms of elevating your own status by telling people.

asked how much I thought his bottle of lager would cost. I confessed I had no idea? "More than at Clarisges?" he asked. "About the same", was my rather lame response.

Then I noticed that he was Barry Humphries.

The lager was more expensive than at Claridges, but only by a little.

To be honest I thought it was the bloke who used to do the film reviews.

I was outside having a cigarette, and missed all the fun. There was another chap there. Everton type.

We drank Negronis all day :cloud9:

You could tell it was him. Big, f**koff Bentley with STEIIOS as the reg plate. And he looked like Stelios. I turned right towards Cheshunt. He turned left towards Enfield. He went through a red light.

You should be a writer or something.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

No, I have no idea what that means.

Luis Anaconda

I tried to get a negroni on Saturday - bar I was in appeared to have every other ******* drink in the universe. Instead a raised a Mojito to you and your good lady wife.

And then I would have perhaps told him how annoying he was, when being that character.

12 hours later, the results were predictable.

I believe the progression went as follows:

Negroni

White wine

Vieux Carré

Beer

Champagne

Vieux Carré

Champagne

Champagne

Etc.

I was ill for 2 days.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

That was dreadful.

Berni

He duly explained that this was very much not in the correct spirit of things.

I mean...aside from all the other things wrong with that assertion, of course.
