it will take some doing. he's always looked brightest when's he bounding up the field exchanging passes. he'd have to reboot his whole mental approach. don't know if that's in him.

and a role like this with lots of tackles etc will probably see him injured most of the time anyway.

That midfield hesitancy will disappear at a stroke.

For example, Xavi never gives the ball away because during his whole career, he's always had two or three of the best forwards in world football making moves ahead of him so nobody is ever able to gve him the hurry-up or put him under pressure.
