The real concern is surely with your exaggerated hatred for a player who -- even if he was never quite good enough, -- gave it his all, and can hardly be blamed for being picked by the manager or the club's lack of spending power in previous seasons.

He had a really good spell back when Sagna was out a couple of years ago, it's a real shame he was never able to build on that.

From signing a new long term contract about 12-18 months ago to now appearing to be surplus to requirements, not good enough to fill a job that he had been understudying for a few seasons.

I suspect he thought he had his dream job when getting the new contract,.

Still, not an ounce of pity or sympathy for the lad.

I would of displaced that old can't use his left foot or dribble past a player Sagna. He couldn't even do that. Sagna was there for the taking mate.

No not his wife :hehe: well...

The likes of Ramsey, Chamberlain and Wilshere who will have been at the club from a relatively young age and who will have developed that bond or association.

They don't need to have grown up ****ing into their Arsenal duvet.

You have probably also tried -- at least once in your life, -- to not live up to your own expectations; of failing to do something that means a lot to you? The feeling of empathy is a fairly human exercise. Unless you're a psychotic.

He's lucky that he got the chance to live out his dream for a short while, but that doesn't take away the feeling of dissapointment he probably experiences as well.

But as you say he lived the dream, more than thousands or millions of others did. He did well and can always look back with fondness on his time at Arsenal.

Physical injury aside I rarely have any sympathy for modern day footballers at the top level as they live a very cossetted and privileged lifestyle.

I reserve my sympathy for those that deserve it.

But the fact appears to be that Wenger or whoever has decided Jenkinson is no longer up to the required standard.

The club he supported as a boy is of no relevance.

f**k him.

I find the 'he earns £200K a week so I can't be sympathetic to his hurting'-argument bizarre.

You see it when great players break their legs or have their careers cut short by other causes. "f**k 'im, he's a bloody millionaire!" as if his suffering (even if it isn't necessarily as life-threatening as all the other causes for physical and emotional pain out there) is rendered insignificant.

I would have sympathy in such a case where a player had his career cut short, all Jenkinson is being asked to do is to take his employment elsewhere.

He could still go on to have a great career elsewhere and as stated before he has lived the dream. Good luck to him.

No sympathy all the same.
