firstly, he isn't the type of player we need right now

secondly, it would have been a step back for the team

thirdly, it would have been a step back for him - after failing at Barca he needed to move in a different direction


in 10 years time he'll just be another vague memory, I'll have no reason to go back and watch old games with him in them - not like Henry, Bergkamp, Viera, Adams, Smith, Brady, Rice, etc
