Arsene knows Arteta needs replacing, if not this summer then certainly next. I suppose it's a choice between doing it now or doing it then. If he can get the player he wants now then i imagine he'll probably do it. And as i said below, we've tried to sign a more defensive minded midfielder the last two seasons (Gustavo and Bender) so are almost certainly looking to improve in that area of the pitch.

As for Diaby, Arsene has already said he can't manage a game every three days, so relying on him is just silly.
