View Full Version : So I saw Rise of the Planet Of the Apes last night for the first time and I'm bemused.

OK, it's vaguely sort of feasible that he could've got all clever from this virussy doodad, but the whole 'developing the power of speech' thing is just *******s. Chimps don't not talk because they're not clever enough. They don't talk because they haven't got a f**king larynx and so cannot talk. The idea that Caesar just magically evolves something it took mankind tens of thousands of years to evolve is just total crap, I'm afraid.

Besides which, if a bunch of apes started acting up on the Golden Gate Bridge, they wouldn't charge them with horses, they'd just bloody shoot them.

So, in summary, RotPotA lacks credibility.

Any films, other than documentaries, must be purgatory for you

When **** like him suddenly learning to speak happens, it steps outside those boundaries and loses the audience imo.

Mind you, most of the original series lacked Heston.

I don't care how much of a Fashist the guy is, he's a proper movie star.

Most of the audience would just be enjoying Gorillas fighting and big guns blazing.

Next time around the Chimps will have bazookas

My biggest concern in all the ''Ape'' movies was seeing Helena Bonham Carter dressed up in full monkey kit and still thinking ''I would''

I thought it was great, if anybody could motivate the apes to speak it's Johnson from Peep Show, I mean he juiced up the organ sacks at JLB Credit enough to get it sold to the Germans.

Which also sounds a bit racist, now I come to think of it. :-(

My issue with it was that we were supposed to side with the f**king apes. f**k that imo. If animals ever start getting uppity, I sincerely hope we wipe them out quick smart. We didn't climb to the top of the food chain just to let some hairy f**kers start f**king things up for us.

The thing is, Pacino seemed to get away with a funny voice in all his films but when Heston does it all of a sudden he's not a great actor.

Also, Ralph Garman does a better Heston

down. If the apes want to take over the world, they'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hand.

f**king monkey c**ts.

There is literally no way a bunch of creatures without opposable thumbs could ever successfully run a modern agricultural enterprise.
