Andre Santos is in hospital at the moment.

He was beaten to a pulp by Flamengo fans after they lost 4-0 to international on the weekend.

Got a pretty severe beating when he was leaving the stadium.

Spoke to Arsene this morning and we're going to send him our best wishes. we might get him back just to train with the team so he can clear his head a bit.

Poor guy. most people don't know it but he was suffering from some pretty serious personal problems when he was originally with us but always tried his best.

please if you can send him your regard on his twitter.

Kind Regards

your best mate

Mickey Pearce

Root is nailed on, I'm not sure a fifteen year old captain is going to deter Australia from their intimidation tactics.

he cited Graeme Smith as evidence of a young captain.
Although Smith had the massive advantage of being a brash, arrogant, obnoxious príck from a young age (birth).

doesn't really achieve much because the senior players are all so bad atm, will just dent his confidence.
They obviously see him as the future.

More about the substance than the style admittedly. The *******

with a normal field and letting him hit literally everything leg-side.

The best I could ever say about him was that he was 'effective'.

And he was better to watch than Gary Kirsten. Mind you, so was the Holocaust.

full way outside off stump with a massive gap through extra cover, he still refused to play a drive, it was just a standoff.
As you say it is astonishing someone so limited achieved so much, not sure how much of that is down to him and how much his opponents.
