Although perhaps he will curb Khedira's attacking as he did with Arteta, he has the physical attributes Arteta lacks.

More to do with the position they play, leadership qualities, experience. Kroos hasn't ventured outside the Bayern comfort zone - I think is a terrific player of course but not, but I think he complements the players at Bayern rather then leads them. Obviously going to have a bit of talent around him at Madrid but I would say we have a need for a Khedira type more than Real have a need for Kroos. Arguably Real have more of a need for Khedira type than they do for Kroos

Don't get me wrong we do need a central midfielder though.
I watched a youtube compilation (I know) of him and after every good thing he did (pass, tackle, piece of skill) just before it goes to next clip you see him sprint forward.
It appears to be natural to him, from what i've seen he is much more Lampard than Makelele.

I take the point about his size and physique but Song was big and strong, we still had a bloody huge open space whenever possession got turned over, the best we could hope for was a Song booking.
