died I don't think this was the reason for his bravery which - whatever you may think of doping - has been praised by persons better qualified to speak of pushbike cycling than you or me.

'brave' - to the point of near psychosis, in fact. But that is simply because they impair your judgement to the extent of making you think you are capable of physical feats that are medically inadvisable. Trying to carry on cycling when your entire body is shutting down is not an act of bravery, merely one of chemically-induced delusion and idiocy.

In short, Simpson was stupid, not 'brave'. And his stupidity was nothing to be admired.

Still doesn't detract from the fact Froome left too early too easily. Guys with no hope have fought like lions to hold on to the yellow jersey when they've had it. He could have carried on for sure.
