Watched the first half again twice.
Given the occasion, the sustained composure exhibited by EVERY German player was incredible! It was simple footie played to perfection -- receive the ball, elegant touch, look for movement, pass to a player in a better position, move into space.
Our Ozil gets hard done by imo. He isn't flashy, he's languid and calm and I think the less perceptive watchers and commentators sometimes mistake the lack of flashiness for weakness. I love watching his first touches -- they are almost always so prescient. As if he's had the time to think several chess moves ahead. Cesc used to have that when he was with us -- you'd always see his head swivel while a pass to him was on the way.
