View Full Version : So I think we can comfortably put away the "This WC knockout stage needs more goals thing" now

That was just brutal last night, I'm still slightly in shock from that first half an hour.

Thomas Muller 11, Miroslav Klose 23, Toni Kroos 24, Toni Kroos 26, Sami Khedira 29, Andre Schurrle 69, Andre Schurrle 79.

Still doesn't quite make sense

and score another.

It was all very odd.

and 'carnival' and all those other witless, tedious cliches, then I for one will be very happy.

I've always disliked Brazil. Last night felt like catharsis for the rest of the world that's had to have the f**king Brazilians shoved down our throats for 50 f**king years. f**k them. I enjoy watching them cry. Ludicrous f**king people.

I rather like them as a country, though I'm a sucker for any Lusophones as it's a lovely language.

I don't really get the hate for them and I'm quite surprised by the sheer amount of it.

watched as they get easy draws, helpful refereeing and fawning commentary (that wilfully ignores how dirty they can be) and all the rest of it and you can't understand the hatred?

f**k Brazil. f**k it in the mouth.

Bunch of preening, arrogant show ponies the lot of them.

to place him as one. Cracking player though - shame he will be on the Chelsea bench next season

A fairly motley looking bunch of mutants too. I've not seen such an ugly assortment of freakish looking people since that documentary last year on Essex seaside towns..
Pwerhaps its the sea air ?

even when they were **** like in 1994 (but still won). 1982 it was all still fresh to me

As I say, that's the commentary/punditry more than anything.

You can't deny the quality of players like Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Neymar, Bebeto, Rai, Cafu, to name but a few. A joy to watch, by and large.

No ref wants to be the one who gets the blame for knocking the great Brazil side out, so they get all the decisions.

Witness last night, when Luiz twice attempted to decapitate an opponent and there wasn't even a yellow until about an hour into the game. Pretty much par for the course.

In fact, so joy free he's like a black hole of joy, capable of sucking any joy from the surrounding area.

If you want 'joy' go and sniff the tops of babies' heads or take long walks in the Lake District or whatever. Sport is about winning, not creating 'joy'.

You massive poove.
