back and under Bertie Mee, apparently, played every position bar goalkeeper.

Lost the 2nd league cup final and missed the Fairs cup finals due to injury.

I'd never heard of him, but he joined as a schoolboy in 1959, 5 years before Paddy Rice. 55 years ago. Hope he lasts another 55.

I have no idea what this means, but I have a vague premonition that it will cure your malady.

thought it said he'd just been hired by the new cloggie. But just checked and you're right. Sorry.

Oh well. Gutted they've sacked someone that joined 55 years ago, then.

Hope the new cloggie's good.

But had anyone heard about David Court? Know anything more than I found out? Never heard my dad talk about him.

want the other 20 or 21 players to f**k up all the time (except when passing to or receiving a pass from our boy.)

It would be better if they had player cam so you can just watch whatever Ozil does or whoever.

people wrongly think he's lazy.

I don't really understand football but even I can see that.

The best thing about the WC is watching so many different players.

Couldn't care less if any of our boys are involved. They'll be back playing for us in August.

know?

Unless I've seen someone play against us, I wouldn't know who they are.

I can only think of 2 occasions I've known who an opponent was (I don't have very good sight.)

When we beat Barca 2-1, it was 0-0 and Messi either missed a 1 on 1 or had one ruled out for offside.

Somehow, I knew it was Messi.

And when we lost in the CL semi at home to the Mancs, Ronaldo scored a 40 yard free kick. And somehow I knew it was that preening Manc **** before he scored it.

But mostly I don't know until I see the replay on the big screen and the name.

Like when Bentley scored for the scum in that 4-4. Didn't know it was him until the name came up.

But I've got bad eyesight. Always used to get Merse and Dixon mixed up when Merse was on the right - esp. when we were attacking the clock end.

narrowing my horizons.

But can I ask you honestly if you think this wc is really great?

I mean, looking at some of the QFs, they seemed rather boring games.

It could just be nostalgia, but I'm sure 1982 was more exciting. Maybe it was just the memory of the Italy-Brazil game.

But England Cameroon at the next one was great, too. Or was that 1990. But it had lots of goals and a 60 year olf African striker. That was good.

Even the QF matches where all but the second half of the Brazil game were very watchable.

I have had no real interest or bias in any of them (other than financial) so just sat back and watched.

You have to love the WC.

Right sided midfielder in the 70s, a worker rather than a creator as I recall. We've had a few of those. Decent player but not a superstar. He's ready to retire.
