View Full Version : So is he actually a winger or a striker, and who'd place in the starting XI would he take?

even though Santi had been our best player.

This summer everyone says we need a striker, and we're going buy a left winger to replace Santi (even though he could easily score 15-20 from the wing if fit all season.)

So we'd still have Olly as our only striker, but have relegated Santi to the bench (to join Jack and Tommy. And Poldi and Ox and Serge.)

Is this really what we need?

Still no other striker, no replacement for Arteta, but ending up with another great no.10 (who Utd would kill for) or the bench.

If everyone's happy with this, I take it he's a great winger.

But is this really what all the spend money moaners think is for the best?

When Walcott went teams just killed us by squeezing the space by pushing up.
We desperately need pace in the team, Sanchez is rapid as well as technically excellent.
Cazorla is not a left winger, he's also 29 and reportedly wants to return to Spain, a top class left sided player makes sense.
Whether Wenger thinks he can also be used as a striker or we need someone else as backup , I'm not sure.

for that role in the prem?

I take it he does both for Chile or his club?

Yes, I do know he plays for Chile now. Hadn't heard of him before, and haven't watched any of their games. Watched Costa Rica though. So he's sort of a top notch Joel Campbell?

He may be tried there, like Walcott, though.

He will probably get a cheaper alternative as back up/competition for Giroud, possibly Remy.

campaign again.

It's what everyone's been saying for 2 years.

I love Olly - his link up play is great.

But I thought we needed another striker for:
Share the workload.
Plan B
Pace and deadly finishing.

Do we really need a left-sided Feo more than said striker or defensive midfielder?

(Or are people assuming that we'd get this Sanchez and a striker? That's why I asked earlier if everyone would be happy if we only had Sanchez as our major signing - other than a Sagna replacement.)

also offering sub or 4-4-2 options.

Yeah, that sounds quite groovy now.

Sorry it took so long for me to get there.

Santi and Ox can play on the left.

I've only seen Serge on the right, but he's got a great left foot. Could Campbell play on both sides?

I like Poldi as a supersub, though, tbf.

Then next summer spend really big on a top drawer DM as Arteta and Flamster start to age.
