But apparently the Kraut press is having a dig, and some gooner blog on newsnow said he was a problem - a £40m pup.

Is any of this criticism justified?

was dynamic but more often he looked a little tentative and struggled to impose himself. I think in the world cup so far we've seen more of the latter.

Given his stature and transfer fee, you can understand why Arsenal fans have been a little underwhelmed by him so far, but I don't think it would take a dramatic improvement to reassure fans that he's worth the money.
