ever taken it upon himself to put a proper reducer on him. You know, really bring the hammer down in his ribs to find out if he really fancies this or if he's just posing. Really clean him out a couple of times early on and I'm sure he'd see the wisdom of staying in his hutch for the remainder of the match. Could be wrong, of course, but at least we'd get to find out for certain.

Actually, I wish Giroud would occasionally risk a yellow card for the team in this fashion. Strikers nowadays jumping out of 50/50's with keepers is just embarrassing overall.

Old Toni Schu was funny the other month, talking about the incident in that picture. After the game a television reporter informed him that Battiston had lost a couple of teeth and he replied "Good!" meaning "Good that it wasn't much worse, because who cares about a couple of teeth."

Of course, it was taken completely the wrong way.

I thought he did it at Bayern because he got so bored most of the time. Certainly wasn't bored yesterday

Once in a while, sod the ball; send the goalie home! Otherwise, you're simply encouraging them to take the piss.

Young Mesut took his goal well, didn't he. Eventually.

Have you seen Per's interview? Not happy; they got a proper fright.

Gotze was terrible, Kroos wasn't great either

Muller never stops though, fair play to the lad, come to the conclusion he's a lot better player than I've ever given him credit for

I just think a more robust approach could achieve real results against him. He already doesn't kick particularly well under pressure.

He does act like a confident man though.

Good job they play each other in the next round. Wouldn't back either to beat Colombia in the semi at the moment
