Seeing as he can appeal anything over three games I was wondering how they could actually chuck him out of the tournament immediately while still giving him a lengthy ban. This way he can just appeal the domestic ban. Quite HumphreyApplebyesque, really.

Either he is banned for about 1/3 of the season or the likelihood of his transfer to Spain increases.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't appeal. The only actor with anything to lose is Liverpool, and they might want to wash their hands in any event.
