View Full Version : I don't wish to be a gaylord, but what problem does the invisible foam solve?

Encroachment at free kicks, presumably?

But encroachment is obvious, even without the foam. You see the players feet edging forward all the time.

Surely if there's problem it's the refereees' willingness, rather than their ability, to enforce the encroachment rules?

ref has his back turned to the wall or is not actually looking at it. I'm sure it's hard to see if they've gained half a yard or a yard to the naked eye if you've not been watching them shuffle forward.

When's the last time a team lost a game and the manager blamed it on encroachment?

moans about the ball being moved. Now they have nothing to complain about :-)

Perhaps those at the ground too?

Also, presumably some FIFA official's relative owns the company with the contract.

A little extra drama can't hurt either, can it, where applicable.
