sort of summed us up. Looked threatening, only to do something dumb and crap

for not being fit enough to start forcing Woy to pick Henderson.

The two games on Wednesday for example, the Dutch and the Chile people. Brilliant.

Italy and the frogs tonight, Argies tomorrow. Oh!

Ben.

every time I see him he looks like he could be really good but never is.

more interest to me than loads of teams I don't care about playing great football. :-(

Young Jack has done next to nothing this season (last season) to warrant selection in the starting 11.

Mind you nor had Welbeck.

hopefully it'll be to our benefit next season

Not from any anti-English sentiment of course, more so to sit back and chuckle at the fall out and on occasion hysterical reaction.

Let's hope they now lose to Costa Rica so it can really kick in.

happened. :hehe:

I agree about the sentiment. I have no anti-English sentiment. Indeed I am English most of the time, I just find the collective delusion and amnesia that seems to hit English football fans at World Cup time utterly baffling and really quite enjoy the confusion that otherwise utterly predictable results seem to cause.

rather than just stumping up for overpriced English players. This has stopped the blistering local talent having their chance, apparently. Nothing to do with a shortage of genuine local talent in the first place.

or Greece win the Euros? Or Porto the Champions League?

England are good enough to qualify out of the group stage so why shouldn't their fans and media hold out hope they can progress further?

Wigan / Bubbles / Porto fans would only begin to contemplate success at the stage of the final, a one-off game where we both know anything can happen. Luck or good fortune can play a huge role.

None will have seriously contemplated winning it at the group stages, or round 2 of the cup in Wigan's case.

Unlike some, not all, English fans at every world cup.

Roy strikes me as the type who wears a belt and also braces. Maybe some twine also, just in case.
