My mate and I were sitting outside a bar and this gay bloke approached us and told my mate his female friend liked him. Anyway, 20 minutes later we all pop in a taxi and make our way to a club. On the way, my friend starts getting it on with this ladygirl. Aware that I could end up a spare wheel in this scenario or lumbered with the gay fella all evening, I ask him if he's going to find me a nice girl in the club. He laughs and says oh don't worry about that.

In the club, he brings over literally a line of girls to parade infront of me. One of them leans over and kisses me on the lips and the rest is biology.

Mental.

Another way the indigenous influence is felt in Manaus is in its sexual mores. “The women in Manaus never needed to burn their bras,” says Marcio Souza, a local writer. “A substantial part of Manaus do not behave according to the conventions of Christianity. They are much freer and more open – they live without the idea of sin. There is an ease with which women change male partner
