Today they have the day off due to football
Tomorrow they (the city of Rio) have the day off because there is football at the Maracana (doesn't even have to be Brazil playing)
And Thursday it's a Catholic holiday

If you can be arsed with going that far north, I'd recommend the Lake District. Very, very beautiful, with strange lumps rising from the ground which the English call 'hills'.

Otherwise Cornwall is very pretty, but again quite a long drive from you.

Don't go anywhere near Wales. They're powerful strange people.
