Basically, I find it f**king irritating that people now take offence at things just for the sake of it.

For about 15 years between 1993 and 2008 I was doing free raves all over Europe, and it's quite nice being able to call my French makes Frogs and be called a Putain Rosbif de Merde with everyone taking it as a term of affection.

Those yank rappers are allowed to do it with *racist term removed*.

So why can't I? (And in this context, I'm not a Brit, I'm a Euro raver, where different sound systems will ask where you're parked up and it's : 'I'm next to the cloggy rig' or 'Pres'que les spagettis avec la hardcore degueulasse'.

If people stop taking offensive with names that never hurt me, perhaps we can spend more time on the sticks and stones that do.

I also like the variety of racial insults in the English lingo.

If it's taken for what it is, i.e the same as the French Rosbif etc, or Hindi Gora, then it's not implying hatred. More a form of respect, which would certainly be understood by many (bien-pensants Brits and Europeans.)

Ok bad example if left on its own. But then we can have the wishing of cancer etc. I'd assumed it was all a bit tongue in cheek. I've nevr known anyone get properly offended.

And given people like Tony, Monty and Alvarro (dago) not getting offended it seems that it's all been reclaimed here.

Esp as the real hatred terms are reserved for people we hate (Mancs, Chavs and of course the sum from up the road.)

Just English use of lingo. If I can shorten Costa Rica to CR and people understand, cool. But if I have to type Germany I'd rather use the word Kraut (or Hun or Bosche etc) just cos I can, and as I'm happy that I like Germany more than most of the UK, I don't have to apologise.
