If Wenger's excuse not to sign him is a loaded midfield why doesn't he think back to the early spring when we were without Ramsey, Ozil, Walcott, etc. The main reason we fell out of league contention was lack of depth in midfield.

Sufficient depth is all I ask. Cesc would have provided that in midfield.

And compare with the odds that 1 striker might get injured, or 1 central defender etc.

In other words, priorities man!

But this DOES put a huge onus on the club for 2 superior signings or else this place will look like Brazil with all the rioting.

Two injuries at centre back nad we would have had serious problems. One up front would have been a problem.

The squad is pretty thin everywhere but in midfield. And sorry, but you do not buy a player like cesc to fill out a squad. It is just ridiculous
