lots of stuff before he retires.

I think that's a rather lovely and sincere message and I wish him well - wherever he goes. He fulfilled his contract, played well for us and has behaved entirely honourably.

to football supporterism.

It doesn't work that way, B.

He is already a millionaire, so making more money, just makes him greedy.

He has won a trophy with the Arsenal, and if it weren't for the fact that people like him keep leaving because they're greedy, then they would win loads of trophies with Arsenal. And their salaries would increase.

Arsenal didn't want Cesc back - what did he do wrong!? Sagna can stay at this fantastic club if he wants! And don't tell me Chelsea is a worse club than City. They're the Hitler and Stalin of modern football.

to me that's what men did in the 1860's during the Sioux riot in Minnesota. Or a man that decides to leave India and go on a two year on - 4 weeks off working schedule in Dubai for 150 quid a month so that his kids can get food and an education.

I mean, had Sagna played for Exeter, Barnet, Tottenham or Hamilton Academicals, yeah, go for it. But he's with a team that constantly plays CL football, he probably lives in a luxurious mansion in fackin London. I don't think looking out for his family is a very applicable term here.

What you're saying is basically applicable for anyone who wants to leave Arsenal, imo.

set the limit on how much money is 'enough' exactly? He has a duty to do the best he can.

we didn't get the market price for him while supposedly being club captain. Horrible little c**t.

When one doesn't really have a limit as far as "how much money is enogh" goes.

The world is full of loyal football players who decline offers to become a lot richer by making a move. They stay and they become legends in their club. That's all I'm saying. Sagna is not an Arsenal legend. He could have stayed in a club that hopefully will dominate European football in the coming years. ;-)

Everything's relative. I guess it's a question of perspective

And I don't think anyone could argue that Sagna hasn't given us full value.

Besides, it's not Sagna's job to generate transfer revenue for us.

What you or I earn in a year cannot possibly be stretched very far to provide the essential food, clothing and shelter needed to survive. These guys probably earn more in a year than we could in more than a lifetime.

Now I'm not saying that they don't deserve their wealth or anything, just pointing out that you can't meaningfully compare the two scenarios of the mega-rich with ordinary folk.

luxuries - stuff I don't need, in other words. That would look a lot like greed to someone on minimum wage.

Sagna is no different to us in the sense that he is looking around at what his contemporaries are making and asking himself why he should get less than some players to whom he is professionally superior. Anyone in his situation would do the same.

You're arguing that they're looking out for themselves and their families - however, you are willing to make an exception for people like Cesc, as he has used somewhat dodgy methods to look after himself and his family?

I don't think any of these guys are swine, or cnuts or whatever. I'm just disappointed they're leaving and conclude that there will never be statues of any of them outside AG.
