View Full Version : Why are England 7/4 to make the quarters?

That's a 37% chance which seems low to me.

Just looking at the group..

if you ask me Italy are the ones who will really struggle with the heat and humidity in Manaus....England have a younger team and I expect them to take control of the game after the 70 minute mark.

Costa Rica are probably the classiest of the Central American sides....fuelled by gambling income they've been able to invest heavily in sport....nice side playing some decent football but let's be honest....it's fkin Costa Rica

I like Uraguay a while back but have gone off them....they rely heavily on Suarez and Cavani.....never liked Cavani...no idea why people rave about him on here....he's too slow and doesn't score as much as he should be scorer...why on earth would you pay 50m for him when we already have Giroud who does the same fkin thing....at least Giroud gives us a larf when he gets caught out with the ladies...Cavani just looks like an ugly travestite....Also Suarez is broken....finished....

So that just leaves the 2nd round match which will be against Colombia, Ivory Coast, Japan or Greece...

What a joke.....with any luck it might be the japs vs England for a place in the quarters.

7/4 looks massive IMO......we're not even talking about winning the quarter final...just to reach it....huge...

So England basically have to finish first in their group. Which is unlikely.

I fully expect Italy to win the group with England battling it out with Uruguay. Although Italy do have to travel twice the distance of the rest :rubchin:

England's team probably won't be younger either, what with Gerrard, Baines, Jagielka, Johnson, Rooney et al. looking likely to start.

Which in turn creates a lack of certainty.

We both know ability in training is only relevant when it comes to Arsenal players on club duty.

what he can/used to do and has some benefit. But he doesn't play that way for England. Most of the time crying those ridiculous cross field long balls to nobody.

Then you have Lampard who shoots at every possible opportunity. The one time it goes in it wasn't given :hehe:

*I've never really understood this sort of nonsense or the no-European side has ever won a WC in South America.....whilst factually correct, the last one was 1978 and training, health, etc has moved on a bit

Uruguay have a terrible defence and I don't believe for a minute that Suarez will be fully fit and had to go to a play-off to qualify

Italy are a decent side but nothing in that squad worries me overly.....drew with Luxembourg as well
