On one hand it's good to see that expectations are at sensible levels, with the debate restricted to whether England have a chance of getting out of their group, but on another it seems that support for a team is only dependent on the expectation of success. Blame the NIMBYs in the shires and the environmentalists for not allowing desperately-needed new housing to be built where there is space for it.

Even though I bought my modest one-bed place at the height before the last crash (2007) I'm glad I managed it then at it's completely impossible now. What I have noticed is the gradual replacement of the awful post-war social housing stock with much better contemporary stuff. Soon council house tenants in work will be better off than everyone else except the ultra rich imo.
