They may wear jackets or attempt to order drinks in non-pint based measures.
I went to a place Highgate once, on a first date with a girl, I'd forgot that the CL final was that night. After about the first bite of starters they proceeded to unfurl a giant screen just behind her head and played the whole match.
Safe to say we didn't reprise the whole affair

Which pub? I was in the Red Lion the other week. Had a pork chop with a sadly over-sweet sauce that they had the cheek to call gravy. First time I have ever not enjoyed a meal there though

Is the Gatehouse the one with a theatre up top?

Anyway, I had already shagged her sister, which effected the motivation a bit

Named after the gate through the hedge to the toll-road from which Hedgegate itself derives its name. Later a non toll-road was built, which is why there are two roads in parallel.
But you knew all that.

London Brewing Company have also opened up a similar pub in North Finchley but, apprently, much bigger. Might not be a good thing.

to tell me that she had a boyfriend the last time I was in there. It's almost like I give the impression of being some kind of sexual predator, or something :-|

to gently inform you that you're not going to get to fúck them now and almost certainly ever.
It happened again last weekend.
Me: "So where do you live?"
Her: "I moved north WHEN I GOT MARRIED"
Why are women scared of me? :-(

seen as anything other than the norm? And - more to the point - why do I have to pay a tenner to get a hamburger that is pleasant?
I realise that these questions are, of course, rhetorical.
