Is it all about the metering?

But they are hideously expensive and always driven by a chap with, shall we say, dubious views on ethnicity and either a Tottnem season ticket or a 'Wenger Out!@ habit.

So fúck them.

protesting about. Nobody likes competition in this tough market but it is the reality. I never understood why they are allowed to use bus lanes. State subsidised taxi fare imo in that it gets people places quicker and cheaper. So one person in a cab travels faster than four in a car. If they had to travel like the rest of us the increased fare might make the fat b'stards walk a bit more, thus cutting the obesity cost for the NHS.

And as for two jags lane on the M4 into London!!!!!

I've watched riots stop to let a black cab continue on down the road. You know that bit in The Man Who Would Be King when the holy people pass by? Like that

in the West End as thanks to all the cross-rail building it would appear to be properly grid-locked. Went into a pub in soho grabbed a pint and a bite to eat and I swear the same vehicles were still in the traffic outside when I left. Shocking scenes imo

It's no surprise the private car companies are doing a roaring trade.

Cabbies just moan about everything else.

Pat Vegas

minimise traffic.

Let's do lots of them at different times and not actually get anything done.

Though I realise they are all different companies doing different things. Moorgate for example it's all dug up from Cross rail. Then National grid have it all dug up too. and don't actually appear to be doing anything.

I've gone by this big hole that must have been there for a year and a half. nobody is doing anything.

Camden, down to Holloway, up to Highbury fields, round the Emirates and then to Finsbury Park to catch the bus up to Highgate.

I may have looked into a couple of pubs on the way

In fact most of the reason for the walk below was finding a pub that was :-(

I saw your post about the Knaresborough bed race this weekend. Are you competing?

so I will be enthusiatically supporting them and then feeling quite glad I didn't do it

Peter

How does that constitute a meter?

Obviously, anything that f**ks up black cab drivers is an excellent thing. :-)

the same as a meter. A clever way of getting around having one in the car, which they're not allowed to do.

In short, they are whinging thieving c**ts who don't like a bit of competition.

This seems to make it easier for people to find and book a mini cab and that is clearly what they dont like. Bunch of utter c**ts who have been literally taking us for a ride for decades. f**k the lot of them.

Peter

If so then i agree it is in direct competition :-)

Surely agreeing a fare in advance is precisely the opposite of a meter?

Classic Jorge

And, lets be honest, a minicab is f**k all use if you don't know exactly where you're going.

I jumped in a black cab, as I often do when I'm in London, and gave him the hotel name. He asked which one it was, I told him and he said that I'd got my hotels mixed up, which I had. That would've been half hour of f**king around in a minicab.

I quite like black cabs, I think it's one of the unique things about London. Would be a shame to lose them.

Mercy of this c**t and his meter.

This app seems to be showing you how it calculstes the price making it harder to stitch people up and massively overcharge them.

The days of being held hostage by a racist c**t and his 'knowledge' are over. They will have to just do extra shifts at the fire station :-)

He once had Eidur, Lampard and Terry get in his cab. He said "Are you Gudjonsen, Terry and Lampard that play for chelsea then?".

They said "Yes, yes we are" all proud, like.

"f**k off outa my cab then" said Dad.

because he likes the idea of lower labour costs and an excuse to pile into the British working class, you know something wierd is going on.
