I never quite appreciated how Savile-esque the whole thing was, big noncey dance******* that Paddy Sways was.

Properly dodged an extradition bullet for Yewtree by popping his clogs, even if it was an urban myth that the swivel hipped kiddy fiddler didn't actually die.

Very impressed with your York recommendations last year - we're up in Ullswater next week; does your Knowledge of all things Norvern stretch that far West?

Though she does raise an interesting point when she said she wasn't sure if it was cool I was lusting after a 17 year old girl anymore.

You get a lush view of the whole of Ullswater from there.

seemed to be a poor imitation Blue Lagoon but did feature Phoebe Cates walking around naked a lot - that's all right to watch isn't it

Aira Force waterfall is #1.

You can do Hellvellyn via Striding Edge from Patterdale, but it tends to be busy. Possibly not too bad off peak, but Swirral Edge, the other side of Red Tarn is an interesting alternative. There's also an old quarry round that way.

There's a mining Museum not far north by the Penrith-Keswick road, and the Steamer for a trip on the lake. There's a beautiful low level walk on the other side of the lake.

Along, I'm told, with a mocked up town and prom night ball...

Far too much of note between them to recommend such a distant excursion, I think.

Good to have an "on the way" stopping point rather than going in circles round the fixed point of one's hotel all week.

If course, it all depends what put lead in your pencil museum.

The bigger hotel east of it is a bit full of old people, and smells accordingly. The flashy, expensive Hotel on the Lake is horrible. They stole a coat from us.
