Made a settlement his only option. Over time the numbers were always going to work against him.

That said, he should have come for us, not russia.

Economically, Germany was never capable of winning it.

Of britain and the two superpowers. He was fine as long as the us wanted to keep out and russia wanted to stay at home. He need to buy off russia permanently.

Are you saying our brave boys in the air fought for nothing?

If it hadn't been for a stray bomb hitting London that led to Britain bombing German cities which led to the blitz, hence sparing the airfields, we'd all be living in a German-controlled superstate with no sovereignty worth speaking of.

Oh.

Not while the Royal Navy was powerful.

Made it impossible for him to secure a lasting victory in west or east.

There is no accident or single incident that turns the course of a war on that scale permanently. This is just a sideline pedled to make good Telly.

According to navy blokes, it would be a miracle if you managed to get them across the channel at all, what with their top speed of around 4 kts and the channel's numerous nasty sandbanks and currents and wotnots - that's without the Navy getting amongst them. Chap told me they wouldn't even have opened fire, the wash from a few destroyers nipping in at 20 kts would have sunk the *******s.

The point of the Battle of Britain, of course, was that Fighter Command didn't need to win, it just needed to not lose...

and bailed out or successfully force-landed, you could fight another day. Bail out over the away end and you hors de combat, of course.
