needing one superstar striker or midfielder to sort everything out.
Last year we weren't bad but not quite good enough to challenge for the big two trophies (yes we won the FA Cup and I was super-thrilled with that).

So we need to strengthen, not tread water. At the moment I repeat we are 3 international players down on our squad from last season (I know damn well only 1 played many games but no one can deny Fabianski played a role in winning the cup?).

I am happy for us not to be linked with anyone and then buy a top player on the final day of the window - but that means we miss out on this top player for the first few games of the season - but this is far from what we need to even get into the top 4. We need a right-back, a decent 2nd goalie and a holding midfielder. Surely these are things which can be sorted out well before the end of the window???

If you are expecting a summer pf huge investment i think you are going to be disappointed. I do think we will get what we need but it will take time and it probably won't blow you away. Sensible purchases making small improvements.

There really is no need to worry st the moment.

Names, but not the names at the top of the rich clubs' lists.

I would see ozil type signings as the exception more an the norm. Koscielny is the type of signing wenger specialises in

hard enough.

These days everybody does it, which makes it harder for Wenger to be the one to pull the rabbits out of the hat.

probably other clubs catching up with us on scouting systems but there was a time you knew anyone over £3m would be good.
Nowadays you feel there is an Andre Santos around the corner.

Let's have all this extra money and not use it.

it's all the same to them.

We are probably the wealthiest club playing that particular game.

Chelsea and Manchester City over signings. He will continue to try to make up the difference through coaching.

Commercial and TV revenues will continue to grow relative to matchday revenues. Unless you can mug off the taxpayer like City and West Ham I wonder if it's worth building one now.

Yes, I know Spurs and Liverpool still want a new one but I'm not so sure they need it. Especially considering how much it hurt us.

Hopefuly I'm wrong and we will reap the benefits.

Dont be silly. Of course it was to provide extra income but that is used in a variety of different ways, most obviously in retaining a gigantic wage bill and being able to retain great players. It doesnt mean you have to keep paying huge fees to get them in the first place.

Also.... As has been pointed out repeatedly, the stadium move was decided before the sugar daddies arrived. The aim was to compete on football income with united and the big european clubs. It wasnt to compete with a bottomless pit at chelsea, city, psg etc.....

Yeah we can't comepete with sugar daddy clubs but they don't all go for the players you want anyway.

We can spend £50m on a player now. You're still in the buy £10m players mindset.

Be filling a squad with them. The more modest signings will still be the main source of players.

10-20 million is a fair amount of money to spend on a player. There must be some cracking players in that bracket.
