:shout: See Villa beat us! Wenger has to go.

:cloud9: We signed Ozil. Wenger is a genius, we are going to win the league.

:shout: f**ked it all up again stupid Wenger it's time to go.

:cloud9: Made it to the cup final

:shout: We've f**ked it up again after the first 10 minutes :-(

:shout: can't believe they let Sagna go like that.

:shout: All of our players are going to get injured in international games.

:shout: :shout: :shout: I can't believe Chelsea would try to sign a player we don't really need but used to play for us.

We must appear like idiots.

Has a deep understanding of the club. He would move right into first choice with no 'bedding in'.

A septic would be crucified on here for saying the same.

Wilshere, Ox should be fit and with Walcott back then we have a very, very strong midfield

Ox
Wilshere
Cazorla
Ramsey
Ozil
Rosicky
Arteta
Flamini
Diaby
Zelalem
Walcott

I also remember a common complaint, and I believe Barca fans say this as well, is that he slows up play too much

and longevity is built around signing such players for 3 million quid, rather than 30.

Or haven't you been paying attention.

Get the other bits sorted.

The timing of this Fabregas stuff isn't great. Maybe if it was later on and we had done our shopping and had some money left over you can fit him in that way as a luxury.

similarly talented midfielders and not quite fitting in even though he knew the fibre of the club and would have no difficulty fitting in

Ben.
06-06-2014, 08:46 AM
then either our best player or our most expensive player is going to suffer, you cannot have those three all in the middle (unless you play one as a false nine, which we won't)
I'd be happier if we spent the £30m on Javi Martinez (which we won't).

reaction at all. It would simply be Chelsea are trying buy a great player again.

Do you think other clubs fans went mental when we signed Ozil. I am sure there was jealousy from some but not this outrage.

It's all down to the mental personal connection.

GK - plenty of available free ones
RB - someone like Aurier, £8-12 million
backup CB - around £5 million
Striker - Remy £10 million, or a Benzema-like (who is available?)?

Chief Arrowhead

The mental gymnastics you are going through to defend this decision is Olga Korbutian.

When I said "bedding in" I really meant "knows what barber to go to".

no issue at all with it

Apart from seeing him in a Chelsea shirt

Luis Anaconda

that offers the pace and penetration that we need to get the best out of the creative players. Not sure what mental gymnastics you are talking about - I am making a quite simple point that we have undoubted strength in the position Cesc plays. Is that really that hard to grasp?

Pat Vegas

He'd be cheap too.

You pretend this was like us turning down the chance to buy back Almunia.
This guy was our captain, for several years by far the best f**king player at our club... and he's in his prime.

Not sure anyone's loyalty stretches that far.
He'd also have a better chance of winning things at the Bridge.

Use the £30m for Cesc to offer the right price for a striker instead of settling for second best in that area.

Chief Arrowhead

I thought the whole idea was to improve the squad. So we're turning down a known quantity for a mythical "wide option" and a make weight right back?

For the first time in his tenure we don't need a creative midfielder when one of the best in the world is available for half the market rate. You can't make it up.

be the bitterness and resentment going around about our failure to sign a player that Chelsea also wanted.

would settle for Remy just to get Cesc back. And it's only because it's him. If Kroos or Koke or Isco were going for £30m nobody would bitch about us not signing them.

the splendor of antigone
06-06-2014, 09:12 AM
Suarez is well out of our price range.
Cavani, Falcao probably the same, or at least their wages would be astronomical.

I'm sure Wenger has someone lined up though

edit: I'm not being sarcastic btw., if he's willing to let Cesc go somewhere else, it's probably because he knows exactly the kind of business he'll do for the summer.

But in terms of qualty and scarcity the going market rate says different.

Billy Goat Sverige
06-06-2014, 09:16 AM
wages would. But then i was thinking about it and the very best strikers should be paid more than everyone else, they're harder to find.

Similar to a quarterback in NFL, the good ones are usually paid twice as much as everyone else.

IMO we should stretch to £200k for that world class striker. We can afford it for just one player.

Ben.
06-06-2014, 09:16 AM
United had supposedly agreed to sign Kroos for £20m and nobody said a thing.
I'm not sure there is a 'world class' striker we can actually get this summer in which case I would be happy with Remy and one of Sanchez,Pedro,Di Maria or Griezmann.
