View Full Version : So are they actually going to take the World Cup off of Qatar?

They're not, are they? They're going to wave their hands about and make sanctimonious noise for a bit and then they're going to hope everyone's forgotten and hold it there anyway, aren't they?

Can't see Blatter and FIFA allowing something so minor as blatant and demonstrable corruption to get in the way of them raking in a load of cash.

if they now take the World Cup off them, they can have another big round of votes and bungs and hookers etc.

Also the small matter of an incredibly expensive lawsuit, should Qatar opt to let their legal rottweilers off the leash.

Complete with computers, high speed internet, etc. I'm sure they wouldn't have much interest in terrorizing the World Cup.

the amazing thing is that those guys came from Club Gitmo, which Obama totally closed as you recall.

that's the way we roll these days.

back then there was a view that re-arming terrorists and then letting them go wasn't ideal.

You are in for a treat! You absolutely must, MUST go to the Oman Oil and Gas Exhibition Centre. It's the bee's knees!

:-( nope, sorry. It's going to be a bit rank.

Good kebab-type things, I'd guess. But if you have any interest in beer or bacon I'd say you're f**ked.

Bad luck la.

Actually going about 2 and half hours away from there - in fact I am probably being exchanged for an American soldier

I guess you are assuming that regular army, such as it is in these places, are terrorists. You would not be 100% wrong. However to equate that effort with actually freeing confirmed Al Qaeda leaders seems ludicrous on its face. I'll enjoy reading your attempt to make your case, though.

One wonders when those of your ilk will live in the present, instead of a decade past.

Should have at least used Nigel as a rejoinder.

Given the lack of cheeseburgers and alcohol there, I suspect there might be a fair few.

They are very good business people as a whole and are quite pleasant to deal with. You will be expected to conduct your business activities 100% above board. I'd also watch your alcohol consumption at company events. Might want to curb your profanity as well.

Oh dear, this isn't sounding good for you, is it.

The crime here, according to Blatter (I assume*) is only that they got caught.
