Sagna's exit I feel is down to the club knowing they can secure a quality long term replacement. Sorry to see him go as he was as solid as a rock, but I think we could benefit with someone a little more dynamic.

I'll trust the club's judgement on this one as the writing has been on the wall with regards to Sagna for nigh on 12 months, surely they'll know exactly who to get and will move swiftly*.

* watch this transfer be done on deadline day :hehe:

Unlike Gibbs he rarely trys to get behingd the opposing full back and looks to get rid of the ball as soon as he can around the box by playing a short pass.

Solid defender, but I trust Arsene to find a good prospect.

then they would have extended by a year and thrown in a few pennies extra. They can afford to push the boat out a little further these days.

almost always got to the byline before delivering. Got behind the opposition left back far more often than we realise. I think he had a number of subsequent injuries that meant that he was never as effective going forward. Still very solid at the back.

Also Uchida was excellent when they absolutely battered us at the emirates, although I think Podolski may have (not) been marking him.
I'd also prefer Aurier though.
