And people think we *need* a better striker? :hehe:

Next season he will be relaxed enough to score that volley in an Arsenal shirt

turn up and see the finished article. It's no good saying to a cinemagoer that a young actor or director's work will improve hugely in a few films time. They're not watching that film. They're watching the one where he or she is rubbish.

Everything is much simpler and easy to understand when everyone stops pretending that being a football fan is significantly different to being any other kind of consumer imo.

actor or director's talent comes to fruition. You're still a consumer looking for gratification. Just more delayed.

care less what's actually going on on the pitch or up on the screen?

to engage in homoerotic touching of other men under the pretense of being elated because their team has maanaged to kick a ball over a white line.

There's actually some truth in this.

Have you seen most football fans? :puke:

I have to be honest, one of the things that puts me off going to football is the need to rub thighs with the horrible, fat, beery, spittle-flecked scum who attend games. That's bad enough. The idea that I might want to touch them any more than that is positively heave-inducing.

celebrating goals together in a way that looks to me to be over-compensating for something, and you can't avoid the suspicion that that something is sexually oriented.

I mean, did you *see* the scenes at the Cup Final? And that was only the ****ty fúcking FA Cup!!!
