it's not nice and I will stop it. I've been disliking some bloke and wanting to punch him in the face just cos he looks annoying. Turns out he is a really nice bloke.

it's not nice and I will stop it. I've been disliking some girl and wanting to berate her just cos she has a terrible personality. Turns out she is really hot.

this decision.
It's about kindness, you see. Kind people have kind faces.
I suspect you have a hard, lumpy, ugly face, reflecting the poison within you. I don't mean that to sound rude, naturally.

It's what's on the inside that's important. A beautiful spirit shines through, and vice versa.

It was chicken and vegetables boiled in stock. It wasn't thickened at all. :-(
I ate it all up very quickly and didn't have seconds, which she said was a dead giveaway that I didn't like it. She was right, of course (not that I told her that), but I still maintain that she had no right to draw that conclusion.
I really wanted to like it, but she must never, ever cook for me again. How do I arrive at this situation without sounding rude or ungrateful? :-(

You'll just have to suck it up - quite literally in the case of this 'casserole'.
I can only offer you my sympathies, old chap.
although maybe I went to places that encouraged that sort of behaviour :rubchin:

I've cooked something else.
She's bound to twig, though, isn't she? :-(
I can't take another meal like last night. It was essentially the sort of thing they used to give concentration camp inmates, but with more bits in.

"My love, chicken and vegetables boiled in stock makes stock, not dinner."
Like that. Subtle.

satisfactory.
Can't you be honest with her without throwing her into hysteria? Then you're probably better off without her.

without sex in order to make that point, though. :rubchin:
Would it help if I gave her flowers and then told her she was a terrible cook, do you think?

Can't go wrong. £2.50 bunch of daffodils and wade in

Plus, of course, I am exaggerating to some degree for comic effect.
