View Full Version : Why does it matter to so many people on here whether or not some posters are or aren't who they say

they are?

Barring those of us who've met in 'real life', we're all merely ephemeral manifestations to one another, aren't we? So what if a poster is someone else manifesting different characteristics? What difference does it make? I've always assumed every poster on here is 'genuine' (ie a grotesque exaggeration of their quotidian self), so questions of 'real' identity ultimately have little or no meaning.

So chill the f**k out.

but there can be a sinister dishonesty on forums when supposedly sincere characters are created to agree with each other and reinforce each other's points. Like that Sir Charlie bloke you also log in as.

But seriously, I don't think that happens here.
