Bacary Sagna says he has not agreed to join Manchester City but admits he is “90 per cent” certain he will leave Arsenal this summer.

The French defender’s contract with the Gunners expires next month and he has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

“I have not signed with anybody, agreed with no-one,” Sagna said in Le Parisien. “All the English media are sending me to Manchester City, but I don’t have any agreement with them or with anyone else.

“I have never set foot there. Several European and English clubs have contacted me. Certain talks have gone further than others and Manchester City are among them.

“But today, I’m still an Arsenal player. It would be good to have everything sorted out before the World Cup, on which I am now completely focused.”

He added: “Today, there’s a 90% chance I will leave and 10% that I will stay. I have been asking myself that question for a long time, and it’s the time for a new challenge.

“Arsenal is an extraordinary club that has given me the chance to grow, both in sporting and human terms. It’s a family club, I feel good here. I’ve had some very good years here.”

Sagna won the FA Cup in what is likely to be his last game for Arsenal.

“It’s incredible to finish by winning the FA Cup,” he said. “The club so deserved a trophy.

“It’s an opportunity to thank Arsene Wenger, the staff, all the people at the club and, of course, all the fans for the support they have given me over my seasons and above all my two serious injuries.

“Whatever happens, Arsenal will stay forever in my heart.”

Remember these are players not fans.

He's been at Arsenal a few years now so why not try somewhere else.

The fact that City can and will pay him more and probably give him a more realistic chance of winning things simply makes a potential move to them all the more enticing.

Good luck to him.

I'm confident that Arsne has a replacement lined up.

Take the payday - you were great for us and we thank you.

(Your wife looks expensive so get a big payday imo. Last year's furs simply won't do.)

Fair play to be honest.

his contract has been completed and he's only backing himself to make it another club.....just remember how many players opt for this route and don't end up with clubs.

It's not like he's pulled a Fabregas and refused to play for us so he can move to Barcelona mid contract.

Complete joke that....we could've got a lot more if we had sold him to City and the games he refused to play in we're criminal....crucial champions league away game vs Udinese.

Though he's been a great player for us, we, like him can move on.

I'm sure Wenger and his gang have been working on his replacement for a while.
